An old village with nine wells.

Llangeler is the old parish of Dre-fach and Felindre. Like Llanwinio, it has a circular churchyard - which suggests a very old settlement. See under 'The Nine Wells of Llangeler' for the holy well near the church.

Sir John Lloyd’s History of Carmarthenshire mentions a stone called ‘Yr hen lech’ (‘the old stone’ at Llangeler. Was this the stone in the churchyard on which sick people were supposed to try to sleep after bathing in the well?

Just up the road at Pen-Ffynnon is the West Wales Museum of Childhood, an old farm with a fascinating collection of traditional toys and a specialist interest in circus vehicles, circus animals and toy vehicles from strange corners of the world.
